This beautiful bride and her girls came all the way from
New York to have her dream west coast wedding!!

We had a chance to meet and had a fun hair trial a few months before her big day!
We decided messy side bun was the winner! A few weeks before her wedding she texted me and changed her mind on her style! To my surprise she wanted to go for something completely different! She wanted to have everything pulled back into a crown braid! Ekkkk I was super excited about this! 💃🏼

She had huge trust in me that I would be able to pull it off and I’m so glad she did!! 👏🏻 I instantly fell in love with her flawless look!

We all love balayage for the same reasons:
It's that sunkissed glow that grows out beautifully and is low maintenance!!!

Ok you guys its low Maintenance not No Maintenance!
Heres how to keep your Balayage looking amazing, fresh and just how you left the salon!
The biggest maintenance is going to be your TONER!!!

THE TONER
The toner is a huge deal for balayage, and makes the world of a difference!
It's going to keep your Ashy balayage looking Ashy or your Sandy blonde looking Sandy.
All colour warms up over time, so your hair is going to start looking brassy and dull over time!
The toner is also going to keep your balayage looking beautifully blended too!
They are quick, easy and super affordable to keep your colour looking Gorgeous!

Here is a photo of a Before Toner and After Toner  so you can see the difference! 

BALAYAGE RETOUCH
Your hair grows 1/2 inch a month which means in 6 months your blonde is going to be 3 inches down. If you want your blonde to stay higher up (especially those who want the face framing highlights in the front) Then you need to come in sooner and get your balayage highlights touched up. If you don't mind having the blonde further down then perfect all you need to do is keep up with your toners and cuts!

CUT
If you want to keep your hair healthy, trims are the way to go!
If your getting balayage then your going to have some kind of blonde on your ends
which means regular cuts is a must!
Everyones hair is different but just to touch on how often you should get your hair cut here you go!

Healthy non damaged hair I would say come see me 4 times a year for a trim!
If your hair has had a lot of chemical treatments done or your more prone to split ends, I would say come in every 8 weeks!

Oh course this is a different story to anyone with super short hair or maintaining a particular cut!

Products
Give your hair some love you guys!
The Products you use makes a HUGE difference!
Keep in mind you will be out in the sun a lot (hopefully), and even taking a dip in that pool or ocean (chlorine or salt) can damage your hair! SO repair that hair of yours even a nice leave in conditioner like this one would be perfect to spray on before you hit the water!
Mask it up too once a week, coconut oil out of your kitchen will even do the trick!

SO obsessed with this low classic bun, I put on my Instagram the other day! How cute would this look for a wedding? Bride or guest!

Lately I have been loving the half up top knot! Heres some cute ideas, I like them messy!! AND check out this double top knot how cute is that?!

Oh and last but not least try to stay away from the heat tools,
I limit myself to using my hot tools once a week!!

It had also been YEARS since we reconnected and what a way to reconnect!

To top it off the oh so talented make up artist Tanya Plows worked her magic and

Ok brides to be💍

First off a trial is a must!
I often think of the hair trial as the Say YES to the dress tv show!
I honestly caught myself saying "So is this the one? Is this the hairstyle your going to wear on your wedding day"?😂😳

Say YES to the hairstyle ladies!

A ton of my brides come in with of course with a photo and exactly what they think they want.
But what a lot of the brides forget is that there hair isn't long enough which means you might need to get hair extensions or
you really, to be honest don't look good with your hair half up🙈🙊!
Let me tell ya not everyone's hair looks good with a braid, a lot of the time when you have dark hair your braid can get lost,
which is better to know before the big day so you can change up the style of the braid to make it work or
scratch the braid idea all together!

A trial gives the stylist time to play with your hair, see if your going to hold a curl, and
play with some hair products that's going to work well with your hair.

Last BUT definitely not least this brings way less stress on your big day!
We will already have are plan of attack, and I will be able to get your hair done so you have more time to spend with your family,

I had the honour to do Cayleys hair for her
West Coast Wilderness Lodge Wedding on the Sunshine Coast BC.

When Cayley came in to do her trial we ended up picking a beautiful classic knotted bun. She did her engagement photos after, so I did her hair quickly for her shoot (photo below)

A week before her wedding she texted me a stunning photo of a style that was to dye for. 
We decided we would go a head and wing it the day of and boy are we glad we did!

Cayley was a treat to work with and I'm absolutely in love with the results with her hair on her wedding day!
